Tufting

Tufting is a textile process where yarn is inserted through a backing fabric to create a pile or looped surface. It‘s a method commonly used to make rugs, carpets, and even some types of clothing. The process involves using a tufting gun to push the yarn through the backing, creating either a cut pile (where the loops are cut) or a loop pile (where the loops remain uncut.) The project/demo would be a hands on experience for people to use a tufting gun and get a general sense of the process‘s.

Náš rozvojový projekt realizujeme již 4. rokem. Stavíme z místních zdrojů z nepálených cihel s příměsí cementu. Kombinujeme lokální stavební postupy s inovativními technologiemi, které naši dobrovolníci z řad studentů VUT a ČVUT testují v rámci studentských prací a projektů. Přinášíme know-how do venkovské oblasti Zambie, kde spolupracujeme s místními, posilujeme tak jejich uplatnění na trhu práci, naopak naši dobrovolníci z řad studentů českých univerzit - nejen stavařských oborů mohou získat zkušenosti ze stavařské, sociální i zdravotnické praxe. Celý tento projekt jsme schopni prezentovat formou banerů a můžeme vzít s sebou i cihlovací stroj pro výrobu nepálených cihel, který používáme v Zambii a realizovat v rámci Maker Fair praktický worshop výroby a ukázky této technologie.
