Historic Cannon Gantry – Cole Randall

Come learn about traditional craft and advanced fabrication with Cole Randall’s cannon gantry project. As part of his scholars research program, Cole constructed a ⅓ scale cannon gantry based on the field cannons of the Civil War. The goal of the project was to explore history through hands-on machine shop time by creating something that is historical but also takes advantage of modern machining technology. The design for the cannon gantry employed segmented wheels assembled in the keystone fashion, the conventional fourteen spokes, and used a typical hardwood (oak). The Gantry project is at the intersection of traditional craft skills like wood and metal working and more contemporary tools like CNC milling. It is historic and at the same time cutting edge!

Realizzo orologi d'arredamento "vintage style" utilizzando i tubi nixie per la visualizzazione dell'ora e della data. Questi tubi in vetro non vengono più prodotti da oltre quarant'anni. Sono stati inventati per visualizzare un numero in quanto i display a led non esistevano. Sono stati utilizzati nei pannelli di controllo delle prime navicelle spaziali e delle navi, nei primi flipper, bilance elettroniche, calcolatrici. Emettono una luce arancione molto affascinante.

At Browned Butter Babe we focus on flavor and bringing a complexity that make our treats not just sweet, but extremely delectable. We offer a variety of treats from classic chocolate chip and snickerdoodle cookies to more exotic flavors like ube and candy cap mushroom found in some or our blondies, cookies and rice crispy treats.
