Woodworking is the craft of shaping, cutting, and assembling wood to create functional or decorative objects, such as furniture, sculptures, or tools. In makerspaces, woodworking plays a crucial role because it offers hands-on experience with a versatile material, enabling creators to bring their ideas to life through physical projects. With access to tools like saws, sanders, lathes, and drills, makers can learn traditional skills while experimenting with modern techniques to build prototypes, customize designs, or produce artistic works. Woodworking fosters creativity, problem-solving, and craftsmanship, making it an essential medium for learning and innovation in collaborative maker environments.
