Aghetto is a syringe that allows the operator to detach the cap from the needle and the needle from the syringe with just one hand and without the risk of accidental needle stick injuries. Common syringes, however, require two hands and also involve the risk of accidental punctures (risk of contracting HIV; Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Malaria and others). The perspective study of a panel from the “Storie di san Bernardino” attributed to Perugino revealed a contracted space, represented in three dimensions by the ‘objective model’. In contrast, the ‘ideal model’ eliminates the deformation and maintains the architectural proportions. The installation creates a physical model that allows even non-specialist audiences to appreciate the scientific results by positioning the eye (or camera) at the fixed viewpoint to verify the overlap between the view of architectural model and the painter’s perspective.

3D Printer Lending Library

This 3D printer kit was made available through a lending library program that was inspired by the availability of low cost hardware, initial availability of Windows computers, and the notion that people may want to have a trial 3D printer experience before making their own investment. The essence of this program is that a package containing everything needed to initially explore 3D printing can be borrowed for a period of time. The 3D printer being used in this program is the EasyThreeD Model X1. This 3D printer uses PLA filament and has a working volume of about a 4” cube. We will be brining one or two 3D Printers and several 3D Pens.

This project is a hardware-software platform that aims at optimizing street lighting through the use of LoRa (long-range) communication technology. Electronics and sensors detect the passage of vehicles on a road section. A central computer determines the optimal light intensity that a road section should receive during low-light hours. Thanks to this technology, it is possible to enable dynamic street lighting according to traffic, with evident energy savings, especially if applied on a large scale.
