Tecnologie Wi-Fi Sensing: Individuazione e Re-identificazione delle persone

Faire: Rome

Maker: Sapienza Università di Roma

The project addresses person detection and re-identification tasks via Wi-Fi signals. Specifically, using low-energy and low-consumption devices such as ESP32, it is possible to analyze electromagnetic waves of the Wi-Fi signal that are altered by the presence of human beings standing between the two devices. Following a pre-processing phase, artificial intelligence was exploited to detect the presence or re-identify a human being while also respecting their privacy. The prototype comes with a MATLAB interface that allows one to visually inspect the effectiveness of the designed algorithms.

Intelligenza artificiale come supporto alla diagnosi di epatocarcinoma

Faire: Rome

Maker: Sapienza Università di Roma

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common primary liver cancer worldwide. Early diagnosis is crucial to improve management and provide survival benefits to patients with HCC. We designed a Machine Learning (ML) and a Deep Learning (DL) for nuclei classification by using features extracted by immunofluorescence images. We demonstrated the ability of the proposed models to classify liver nuclei segmented by immunofluorescence images, thus suggesting a potential useful tool for pathologists in HCC diagnosis.

Caratterizzazione dei prodotti alimentari mediante nuovi marker molecolari

Faire: Rome

Maker: Sapienza Università di Roma

As part of specific departmental and multidisciplinary initiatives (Department of Management) for consumer protection and developed within the Commodity Laboratory, we have identified a cluster of specific and innovative indicators [molecular markers] which allow to better characterize the perceived quality of some commercial food products. In particular, we applied our model to pasta [primary sector of interest], craft beers, grappa and coffee. The main aim of our studies is to discriminate commercial products which, thanks to their specificity - deriving in particular from "mild" industrial treatments - can benefit from "premium price" logics.
