Alice – Between The Mirrors

Freie Maker e.V. is maker community from Aachen, Germany. Freie Maker wants to let people get access to technologies, through DIY, OpenSource, and learning by doing. With Alice - Between The Mirrors, we want to give people a playful way into quantum technology basics. This is mostly achieved with led games, with technology hidden behind an artistic, natural surface. Albeit games can be also played without learning about the quantum technology aspect, they should at least encourage people to rebuild this artistic open-source objects for their homes.

Home made digital holographic microscope for 3D bio-imaging

We present a digital holographic microscope for quantitative phase contrast imaging of bio-samples. The device is low-cost and portable add-on module of a conventional microscope with 3D printed support. The microscope is based on the off-axis, common-path geometry in the detection path. The microscopy capabilities are demonstrated through several bio-imaging on biological specimens.

Minerva is the flagship project of Sapienza Rocket Team, a sounding rocket whose expected altitude touches 3000 m. It will be the result of the knowledge and skills acquired over the years by the Team members. Starting from the optimization of the external aerodynamics using specific algorithms, moving on to implementing an airbrake system designed to guarantee maximum precision in reaching the mission altitude, it will be made almost entirely of composite materials to ensure the best structural performance.
