Come see the finalists of the Maker Faire Two-Minute Film Festival, screening all day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in the deluxe Chill Theaters mobile theater! Spanning a wide variety of genres, from sci-fi to action to even (PG!) horror, filmmakers leveraged a wide variety of maker skills in areas like electronics, sewing, 3D printing, painting, and engineering to bring their fantastical worlds to life. Be entertained and get inspired to make your own movie!

Make: is excited to announce the Maker Faire Two-Minute Film Festival, a celebration of backyard productions and amateur filmmaking that emerges from the maker community. It’s a showcase of hand-made practical effects, harkening back to the fun of painting cardboard backgrounds, designing homemade costumes, and cobbling together sensational props. And with just a two-minute run time, it proved anyone can make a movie—even you! The inaugural theme is “Future Makers,” whose interpretation was open to each filmmaker. Entries ran the gamut of genres: Sci-Fi, Drama, Comedy, Fantasy, Action, Horror, Musical, Children’s, etc. We welcomed submissions by filmmakers of all ages, as well as school groups and clubs.
