Raspberry pi analog musical light show

Maker Faire Bay Area 2025

September 26th-28th

Raspberry Pi

I am a technology teacher in district 75 New York City. Over the last two years I have used the program and language scratch that have my students write their own program to fire solenoid to play on glockenspiel (Mental Xylopgone made of mettle not wood). At this last year's district stem fair my students put a speaker in a cylinder, covered in rubber, added a mirror and pointed the lasers at it. This resulted in a musical light show playoff the ceiling.

We have also used old floppy drives to build a musical instrument that plays mid files.
