Mechanical sculpture exploring the world using mechanisms as metaphors for the human body. Working at the junction of digital fabrication (CNC machining and 3D printing) and traditional craft skills, each device offers an interactive experience.

What inspired you to make this project?:
I have been making mechanical sculptures for 15 years. In art school I became tired of the idea of the traditional gallery, with everything out of reach of the viewer. I wanted to make work that didn't really become complete until the viewer became a part of it. Mechanical movements make the perfect metaphor for the human body; we see ourselves in gears, pistons, and levers without being prompted. Being able to explore human experience by creating experiences seemed natural.
