CaliforniaSTEAM - Supercapacitor powered LED wearables
Home: California, United States
Hi, I'm Sander from California STEAM! I'm known for my supercapacitor-powered LED wearables. My designs feature PCB art with LEDs that glow in mesmerizing patterns. The wearables are powered by supercapacitors, which allows them to rapidly charge in just 3 minutes and have a remarkable cycle life of over 50,000 recharges. I'm thrilled to introduce the Duonacci pendant at this year's Bay Area Maker Faire. This new design features 103 bi-color LEDs that create incredibly smooth and mesmerizing transitions. It's a brand-new piece that embodies my fusion of technology and art. Come see how I transform the functional into the beautiful and discover the future of wearable art.

I am an engineer by day, artist by night. Literately by night since all my art have some form of lightening integrated into the design. During the day I am the principal engineer of large hydraulic presses which are used all over the world, but at night I can combine my engineering background in some very creative projects.
I design sculptures that combines technology with fiber-art. My designs has been shown at the Crocker museum in Sacramento, the Collide festival in Stockton, Textile museum in San Jose and Flavor fest in Stockton and the Autumn light festival in Oakland.
Besides the sculptures I am well known in the PCB-art community for my LED wearables. The wearables use micro-controllers and super capacitors (instead of batteries) to create LED patterns at a very energy efficient way. The small size and low weight of these wearables makes it possible to wear these as earrings.
