Bharati Mahajan

I am an illustrator and visual artist from Syracuse, NY. My artwork always starts off as a pencil or pen drawing in one of my many sketchbooks and is then turned into a digital illustration. Spending a lot of time working as a graphic designer has strongly influenced how I work and has formed my enthusiasm for reduced color palettes, and bold shapes. I love creating expressive characters and simple backgrounds using vivid colors, playful lines, dynamic shapes and detailed patterns. My artwork is often inspired by stories, taken from everyday life. Apart from creating art I also teach design at Onondaga Community College.
