DISK FULL Community Memory Project: 3D Scanning Family Heirlooms

Home: Louisiana, United States of America

Come 3D scan and 3D print your family heirlooms or beloved objects! We'll add 3D prints to the DISK FULL exhibition on view at LSU School of Art's Glassell Gallery. In this workshop, LSU Digital Art Prof. Christine Bruening will teach practical skills for personal archives: using apps to 3D scan heirlooms. So much of life takes place online now, from messages and photos to the digitalization of objects through 3D scanning apps. As our memories become less physical, we’re left with a pressing question: what happens to these digital histories when we pass? Learn more about Bruening's exhibition, DISK FULL at https://mailchi.mp/lsu/diskfull

School of Art Digital Art Prof. Christine Bruening is an interdisciplinary artist whose work examines the relationship between popular culture and the cultural values embedded in entertainment. This Community Memory Workshop is supported by the Charles Lamar Family Foundation.
