We offer renewable power at stable rates, reduce energy-related greenhouse gas emissions, and reinvest millions of dollars in community benefit programs. MCE provides electricity service and cutting-edge energy programs to more than 1.5 million people in 38 member communities in Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, and Solano Counties.

MCE established the first Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) in California after state law was passed to make this new type of energy provider possible. As the trailblazer for local clean energy, MCE was the first not-for-profit organization to offer electricity as an alternative to PG&E. With our launch in 2010, customers in our service area had a choice in electricity providers for the first time, along with the benefits of increased transparency from a public agency.
