Radio Inventions Old and New and How Software Radio Changes Our World

Maker Faire Bay Area 2017

May 19th-21st

Presentation Electronics

Dr. Tom Rondeau from DARPA will look over the history of the invention of FHSS through the use of software radio. He will explore the power of software radio as a means to better understand our invisible electromagnetic world as well as the ability to generate new ways of interacting with it. In the spirit of the National Inventors’ Council, he will introduce the DARPA Bay Area Hackfest, which will be running in November with help from NASA Ames. The Hackfest is an opportunity to push forward our understanding of software radio. Learn what DARPA is doing at the Hackfest and how people can participate.
