What Inspired You to Make This?

The inspiration for this was actually legos, specially lego dot mosaics. About 2 years ago I made a image to lego mosaic generator, and through that got a lot of experience with image files, and how to work with r g b values. Then one day I thought about using the r g b values to trick our eyes into perceiving a grayscale image.
