“UpCycle the Future”

Home: Tashkent, Uzbekistan

Our project focuses on reusing waste as a source of creativity, sustainability, and innovation.By transforming daily materials into functiona items,we aim to inspire visitors to think differently about what is thrown away.At the exhibition,we will showcase several interactive pieces.1.Terrarium-a self-sustaining,closed ecosystem built inside reused glass containers. It highlights how waste glass can become decorations for homes.2.Cup-to-Plate Innovation-a design that transforms recycled plastic cups into plates, reducing single-use waste and showing practical ways to repurpose everyday items.3.Bottle Furniture and even a sofa crafted from plastic bottles.Visitors will be encouraged to try sitting on them, making the exhibit interactive and showing how strong and functional reused materials are.

What Inspired You to Make This?

Since the air quality and the environment of our hometown,Tashkent, has worsened, we decided to make a contribution to the solution for this issue. By illustrating how used items can be reused in a practical and creative way, our team has been working for over one and half years on a project called “Green Utopia”. In the beginning of the our journey, which started by founding our eco-club at American Center in Tashkent, we were just living in different parts of the city, without any realization how strikingly the poor quality of air affects not only us but also people with difficulties in breathing. Apart from that, we desire to help other people change the way they think about reusing items.
