UPCYCLE DREAMING
Home: California
Miss Velvet Cream Neocouture is ultrafemme clothing, handmade by artist Scatha G Allison. These one of a kind pieces are cut, upcycled, remade and constructed from vintage, deadstock and offcut fabrics. MVC was founded in 2003 in San Francisco. MVC invites you to enter the creative space of the working studio, showing the process, the tools and techniques, the steps that concepts manifest into physical form.

I am a clothing artist working under the name: miss velvet cream Neocouture. I make ultrafemme clothing by hand, one piece at a time. These one of a kind pieces are cut, upcycled, remade and constructed from vintage, deadstock and offcut fabrics. I started sewing in 2003 in San Francisco, and am self-taught clothing designer.
All my designs reflect an aesthetic of craft- stitches and seams are evident, multiple stitches are used, closures are intentionally obvious, edges are left raw and unfinished, and the construction elements are clearly visible.
I'm influenced by 1870s European women's fashions, artists Vivienne Westwood and Lee McQueen, ideas of solarpunk and sustainable futures.
