STEM Table - Things that Soar!

KidTech will run two tables, Saturday and Sunday, for 2 hours each day. Saturday will be Straw Rocket Day where young (and young-at-heart) makers build and fly a small air-powered rocket from straws, paper and tape....limitless fun! Sunday will be Hoop Glider Day: build and fly a glider out of one straw, two loops of paper and tape. Kids (and adults) get to take home their creations, and the know-how to build more.

KidTech Inc. has helped Centre Region youth experience engineering design and STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) activities since 1997. KidTech is a registered Pennsylvania Charity and 501(c)(3) organization (EIN 25-180855). The annual Great Solar Car Challenge (GSCC) program, run by KidTech, brings together middle schooler to design, build and race mini-solar cars from a kit (solar panel, DC motor, gear set, 4 wheels, 9V battery strap, and bamboo skewers (for axles). Kids (and kids-at-heart) like to build things that fly. The two projects KidTech is providing are tried and true activities, with easy and quick construction. Kids Can make more of these at home - so they can experiment with different fin and hoop sizes.
