The team aims to participate in the SUAS competition. Among the competitors there are many of the best scientific and technical universities in the world. The competition requires students to design, integrate, present and test a UAV capable of autonomous flight and navigation, object detection and classification and execution of a series of missions to simulate an air drop or search and rescue tasks.

Sapienza Aerospace Student Association
The Sapienza Flight Team is made up of students from different faculties of the university. It groups Aeronautical, Mechanical, Management and Computer Engineers united by the desire to accept new challenges. It was born in 2010 when a group of students, created an extracurricular project that could give vent to their passion for the design and construction of radio-controlled aircraft. Over the years, the project has achieved excellent results in international competitions and has attracted more and more students from the faculty.
