Join the Robot Rumble! The Tompkins County Public Library all the way from NY is bringing fun robotic mayhem with 3D-printed wrestling robots. Visitors will be able to get hands-on with the bots by training them in Scratch and watching them battle!

I am a maker, self-taught coder, and lifetime library lover. I specialize in making hobby robotics and coding community events. My background is in recreation leadership and youth outreach.

I wanted to provide a free and accessible robotics program for all youth in my community and beyond. I am fortunate and privileged to work for a public library with excellent makerspace funding for STEM education. On a personal level, I come from a BIPOC family who could not afford to participate in my local robotics programs when I was a child. I had always wanted to compete in LEGO league and robot sumo but the cost of entry was a barrier. Now, with my present employment and college career in engineering, I strive to provide free robotics and coding opportunities through collaborations with universities and outreach groups both local and national. At present, I am collaborating with the NASA Collective Learning Environment to design and lead a summer coding project for 6th grade up focused on data analytics and environmental science. The youth in this program will learn how to prepare data with Python and visualize it with R to create a threshold for when it's safe to hold summer camp based on AQI data.
