Emilio Lopez co-founded SOP Technologies after patenting a technology to prevent leaves, litter and debris from entering stormwater systems and discharging to waterways. To continue achieving the company’s mission to Stop Ocean Pollution, Mr. Lopez works with municipal Public Works departments, Stormwater Engineers, Environmental community members and technology companies to design, manufacture and implement technologies that address global water pollution issues. The technologies he has developed have been awarded as innovative Stormwater Best Management Practices by the American Public Works Association. Mr. Lopez has diverse experience working with Fortune 500 companies such as Google and KPMG, as well as technology startups. His expertise includes physical and digital technologies, and he has been interviewed on NPR and nationally on Telemundo.
