Dr. Carl E. Lewis Director, Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden Dr. Carl E. Lewis has served as Director of Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden since December 2008, where he provides strategic leadership for one of the world's premier botanical gardens. Located in Coral Gables, Florida, he oversees all aspects of the garden's operations, horticulture, scientific research, and educational programs. Education Ph.D. in Systematic Botany, L. H.
