Lower Limb Exoskeleton for walking assistance

Home: Italy

The Ekso is a lower limb exoskeleton, commercialized by Ekso Bionics, able to support hip and knee flexion/extension during overground walking. Once the robot is worn, the user has to shift the weight in the lateral and antero-posterior direction thus allowing to free a leg for swing and to trigger each step. The user is actively engaged in achieving and maintaining an upright posture, initiating steps, and balancing their body. The dynamic management of the balance and rhythmic stepping enables walking for assistance and therapy applications.
