Low-cost prosthetic devices

Home: Italy

Robotic orthoses and prosthesis represent a valid technological solution to mitigate hand pathologies or amputations; however, these technologies are still largely underused, mainly due for their costs and complexity. The 3D-AID project aims at overcoming these issues by developing low-cost upper limb prosthesis and orthoses customized on the specific needs of patients by means of advanced techniques of additive manufacturing. The project, funded by INAIL, is led by Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma in collaboration with the Centro Protesi INAIL.
