Dia Michels
Dia L. Michels is an award-winning, internationally published science and parenting writer. She has written or co-authored over a dozen books for both children and adults. Her titles include Mammals Unlocked, This Is How I Grow, Cuddled and Carried, If My Mom Were a Platypus, and 101 Things Everyone Should Know About Science. Her books have been translated into Spanish, Dutch, Hebrew, Haitian Creole, and Washoe. She is the founder and president of the independent press Science Naturally, designed to increase science and math literacy for kids by exploring and demystifying STEM topics. She is also founder and president of Platypus Media, an independent press dedicated to promoting the concepts and practices of attachment parenting. A popular speaker, she presents at healthcare, parenting, and education conferences across the country. Dia lives in Washington, D.C., and is the mother of three adult children.
