Berea College STEAM Collaborative
Home: Kentucky, United States of America
The Berea College Makerspace, Craft Education & Outreach Program, and Electronics Lab will showcase student projects and host interactive demos of traditional and augmented crafts. Come and experience our e-textiles project, exploring how to weave with soft circuits on a handheld loom. Electronics enthusiasts can view custom PCBs and microcontroller projects designed in student project courses and as part of our work program. We'll also have interactive devices to try out from the Memory Museum research initiative on new family storytelling technologies.

The Berea College Makerspace, founded by Faculty Director Jasmine Jones, is a campus-wide resource offering DIY fabrication tools, space, materials, and learning workshops to the college community. The Craft Education & Outreach Program, led by Steve Davis-Rosenbaum, supports the preservation of traditional craft in Appalachian communities by developing curricula and materials for K-12 teachers throughout the region. The Electronics Lab, run by Dr. Wei Wu, supports STEM coursework and student teams from learning basic circuits to custom PCB manufacturing.
