ADSBee 1090: Open Source Embedded ADS-B Receiver
Home: California, United States
ADSBee 1090 is an open source ADS-B receiver that decodes transponder information broadcast from aircraft! ADSBee 1090 can be used to see aircraft location, callsign, altitude, and more, for applications ranging from UAV collision avoidance to online aircraft tracking. ADSBee uses a unique decoder architecture based on the RP2040, making it lower power and lower cost than many of the alternatives on the market. Best of all, the firmware and schematic are completely open source, and getting better from community contributions every week! We are excited to bring ADSBee back to Maker Faire this year to show off the progress the project has made! ADSBee receivers have been deployed by beta testers across the USA, and as far away as Ireland and Germany, in applications ranging from long-range FPV UAVs to internet-connected ground stations. This year, ADSBee expanded its capabilities with the addition of a receiver for 978MHz UAT, a protocol used by small aircraft in the US.
