Emoji Robot is programmed without texts (and without PC or smartphone), instead the program is composed of a series of pictogram/ideogram. Each icon has its own meaning such as move forward/backward, turn left/right, test if sensor is XX, turn LED on/off, beep, wait for sensor to become XX, etc. The robot consists of Arduino Nano, OLED display, ultrasound distance sensor, reflective photo sensors, motor driver and DC geared motors. IR remote control is used to program the robot. Planned demontration includes line tracing, detecting obstacles, etc. We also plan to show samll balancing robots and spring-wound clock with pendulum auto adjustment.

Studio Makr is een designlabel opgericht door Jay Rijs en Scott Gerrese tijdens hun studie Industrieel Product Ontwerpen aan de Hogeschool Rotterdam. Vanuit hun gedeelde passie voor interieur en design ontwikkelen zij interieurproducten met een vintage uitstraling, gecombineerd met moderne productietechnieken. Hun eerste product, de PhotoBar, is een massief eikenhouten balk waarin je met metalen balletjes eenvoudig foto’s en posters ophangt — een modulair systeem dat verhalen laat leven aan de muur. Tijdens hun afstuderen ontwikkelen ze ieder nu een nieuw product. Jay werkt aan een sfeerlamp die de magie van een eclipse nabootst met glazen schijven en slimme technieken. Scott ontwikkelt een 3D-geprinte betonnen wandkast waarin esthetiek, modulariteit en innovatie samenkomen. Studio Makr zoekt in elk ontwerp naar de balans tussen ambacht en technologie, met producten die verrassen, inspireren en een blijvende indruk achterlaten.

Within each handcrafted story lamp, cut paper, glowing circuits, and recorded voices come together to hold stories of family, place, and time. Rooted in STEAM and community practice, the Story Lamp Project carries a mission larger than art alone. It asks how we remember, how we belong, and how creativity can sustain us as a shared human family. In this space, light becomes both language and legacy, a gentle bridge between past and future. Here, storytelling is not bound by age, race, or culture. Each lamp becomes a vessel of history and emotion, illuminating the possibility of a more compassionate world—where making is not only about creating objects, but about creating bonds.
