Hoard grinds and textures the metal surfaces to enhance the reflection of embedded LED lights, which pulse, fade, and shift in mesmerizing patterns across walls and ceilings. Some sculptures are interactive, allowing viewers to become part of the luminous experience. By repurposing reclaimed materials, Kristen not only reduces waste but also reimagines what metal can be—turning forgotten fragments into radiant works of art. A returning favorite in the Dark Room from previous Maker's Faires, she's thrilled to light up the space once again with her bold, sustainable creations.

We bring an assortment of rockets ranging in size between a few inches to as tall as 15 feet. We also have a hands-on Air Rocket Build and Fly component which teaches kids basic rocket building skills and allows the kids to actually launch their rocket from our hand pumped air rocket launch pad.

Znečištění vod – monitoring a ochrana vodních toků

Projekt Znečištění-vod.cz je studentský výzkumný projekt, který vznikl v roce 2021. Zaměřujeme se na monitoring kvality vody ve vybraných vodních tocích v oblasti Moravskoslezského kraje, konkrétně v okolí potoka Polička (okres Bruntál) a na řece Moravici. Projekt začal jako nápad změřit parametry vody v potoce Polička, který protéká naším městem, jako je konduktivita, teplota a pH. Po zjištění problémů s kvalitou vody se projekt rozrostl o pravidelná sledování a rozbory dalších chemických ukazatelů, jako jsou dusičnany, dusitany, amoniak a fosforečnany. Na Maker Faire chceme představit náš projekt a ukázat, jak provádíme měření kvality vody. Návštěvníci budou mít možnost se aktivně zapojit do interaktivních ukázek měření konduktivity, teploty a pH z odebraných vzorků přímo z potoka Poličky. Chceme ukázat, jak probíhá měření s čidly přímo na toku. Dále představíme, na co všechno jsme při měřeních narazili a jak se snažíme zjištěné problémy řešit. Také představíme naši síť meteorologických stanic a hydrologickou stanici, která nám pomáhá monitorovat kvalitu vody a meteorologické podmínky v reálném čase.
