Orologi d’arredamento con i tubi nixie

Realizzo orologi d'arredamento " vintage style " utilizzando i tubi nixie per la visualizzazione dell'ora e della data. Questi tubi in vetro non vengono più prodotti da oltre quarant'anni. Sono stati inventati per visualizzare un numero in quanto i display a led non esistevano. Sono stati utilizzati nei pannelli di controllo delle prime navicelle spaziali e delle navi, nei primi flipper, bilance elettroniche, calcolatrici. Emettono una luce calda, ambrata, molto affascinante.

This exhibit is more than a display—it is a living makerspace of memory. Within each handcrafted story lamp, cut paper, glowing circuits, and recorded voices come together to hold stories of family, place, and time. Children and elders exchange memories that affirm identity, heal loneliness, and reveal the threads that bind us across generations. Rooted in STEAM and community practice, the Story Lamp Project carries a mission larger than art alone. It asks how we remember, how we belong, and how creativity can sustain us as a shared human family. In this space, light becomes both language and legacy, a gentle bridge between past and future. Here, storytelling is not bound by age, race, or culture. Each lamp becomes a vessel of history and emotion, illuminating the possibility of a more compassionate world—where making is not only about creating objects, but about creating bonds.

複雑な動きが可能なロボットアームを用いた、リアルタイム擬態のパフォーマンスアート。心をもたないアームが、生物のように見える錯視現象を生成AIで可視化。モニター裏のカメラ映像に、アームの動きに沿った生物を重ね擬態を実現。「長さ」と「複雑さ」に着目し、「バレエダンサー」「植物」「オクトパス」への変身を行う。

Baudrillard defined a map as a “ precession of simulacra,” or in other words, a “ mise en scene of events with no apparent cause, a free-floating mediascape in which the endless reproduction of cultural forms speeding by on screens.” The work combines various mediums such as photography, AI generation, 3d scanning, sound, and glass to create a floating island in Unity that can be explored. The glass work of Japanese glass artist Yuki Sato, is used as a clue to set the tone of the randomness of creation. New York-based multimedia artists Lin Feng and lriz Lin, using travel tracks in Japan as a map. Lin Feng creates the islands and the vaguely familiar objects through a new digital medium, while lriz creates a sound diary with collected local sounds that are deeply connected to each object

Sensory NYC Diary is a series of craft based sensory journaling that keeps the memories I had in NYC in multisensory and tactile forms. This diary is 'written' in textile and other various materials such as paper. By touching the diary, you can feel the textures of the experience I went through. Some diaries include E-textile circuitry that makes it interactive and playful. The diary includes my memories in NYC such as a walk in Central Park, watching a drag show, and babysitting a friend's dog in Brooklyn.

Robotika a elektro stavebnice hravě – objevujeme svět techniky

Workshop představí atraktivní formou možnosti rozvoje technického myšlení, algoritmizace a základů programování u dětí prostřednictvím moderních robotických a elektrotechnických stavebnic. Aktivita je určena pro děti, žáky i dospělé návštěvníky festivalu Maker Faire, kteří si chtějí vyzkoušet, jak lze hravě proniknout do světa techniky, robotiky a digitálních technologií. Návštěvníci budou mít možnost experimentovat s několika typy vzdělávacích pomůcek a stavebnic využívaných ve výuce na základních školách. Každé stanoviště nabídne jiný typ učebního zážitku – od jednoduchého ovládání robota podle příběhu až po programování pomocí blokových jazyků a konstrukční činnosti. Menší děti zaujme robot Cubetto, který umožňuje pochopit principy algoritmizace bez obrazovky prostřednictvím dřevěného robota a barevných bloků. Starší účastníci si vyzkouší robota Ozobot, kterého lze programovat pomocí barevných kódů i v digitálním prostředí OzoBlockly. Stavebnice LEGO Education SPIKE Essential a SPIKE Prime umožní účastníkům sestavit a naprogramovat pohyblivé modely a robota reagujícího na různé podněty. Pro zájemce o elektrotechniku bude připravena stavebnice Boffin 750, s jejíž pomocí si mohou vyzkoušet tvorbu funkčních elektrických obvodů – rozsvítit světlo, spustit motor nebo alarm a pochopit principy fungování jednotlivých součástek. Workshop bude probíhat průběžně během celého dne formou otevřené dílny, do níž se mohou zájemci kdykoli zapojit. Aktivita je vhodná pro děti od 4 let, žáky základních škol, pedagogy i rodiče, kteří hledají inspiraci pro smysluplné technické učení a rozvoj dětské tvořivosti.

In our workshop, participants will have the opportunity to create their very own passive hydroponic systems, with all supplies needed to grow their seedling at home. We will begin with an informational presentation on the science of hydroponics and its importance in urban landscapes. Participants will then discuss and dispel common climate myths. Fair attendees can also visit the NY Sun Works booth to see a mini hydroponic system in action.
