Garments and bags highlight sustainable practices while engaging the wearer by communicating history or teaching hands-on skills. Waste materials are minimized by using low-waste cut patterns during garment and bag construction. Natural and organic fibers are used and each item is packaged in recyclable or biodegradable material. Lara first demoed at Bay Area Maker Faire in 2008 and has been a long-time member of the e-textiles community. She is excited to be back this year!

The M.G. Locost

A built-from-scratch replica of a 1963 Lotus Seven roadster, based on the popular book 'Build Your Own Sports Car' by British engineer Ron Champion. The frame. body, suspension, exhaust, and interior were all made by hand, while the drivetrain and brakes were salvaged from a 1972 MGB convertible. We started the build in August of 2011 and completed it in February of 2014. Since then, the street-legal car has accumulated over 65,000 miles on the road.
