Mosi Nova - Touchpad synth guitar

Home: California, United States

The Mosi Nova is a MIDI controller designed to push synthesizers to the next level. It is shaped like a guitar, but has a large touchpad in the body that morphs the sound dynamically based on how it's touched. Instead of strings, it has buttons on the fretboard in the same layout of a traditional guitar, allowing guitarists to play synths in a way that is both intuitive and expressive. It can also be instantly retuned as a six-string bass, cello, or even lefty-flipped. The Nova outputs midi, which allows it to easily communicate directly with a computer, iPad or phone via its USB-C cable. Any standard virtual instrument can be loaded and played, enabling endless sounds and expressive freedom. We've got Novas to play at our booth!

What Inspired You to Make This?

I grew up playing the synthesizer keyboard in a string of rock bands. Being a cello player as well, I am often disappointed with the lack of dynamic control on the keyboard compared to my cello. The volume sliders and mod wheels on the keyboard simply don't compare to the natural, organic control I have with the cello. So I created the Mosi Nova – designed and built to be the most intuitive, expressive instrument for controlling synthesizers.
