KidsCAN: Anthropometric Survey of Children in the Netherlands

Home: South-Holland, Netherlands

KidsCAN (http://kidscan.tudelft.nl/) is an anthropometric survey organised by the TU Delft. In this scientific study, we are measuring and 3D scanning 1800 kids that live in The Netherlands, aged between 0 and 16 years old. The study is on behalf of the European Committee for Standardization, with the goal of improving international standards in Europe. Children's measurements will be used to better fit the products that children use everyday, like helmets, seats, and toys, as well as make spaces, like playgrounds, safer for them. At the Faire, we will showcase 3D scanning with a hand-held 3D scanner. Visitors can have their face 3D scanned or an object that they bring. We will then be able to show the 3D scan on screen, or if time allows, also make it into a model that we can share with the visitor.
