ParKit: Pedaling Parks to People

The ParKit, a park-making kit, makes small temporary parks mobile. The main objective is to enact short-term, low-stakes simulations of potential permanent park installations, servicing the wants and needs of multiple publics. Designed to be ridden around a city and quickly assembled, a bike pulls a trailer holding the necessary components for constructing a “parklet,” enabling previously unused spaces to become more inviting. Mobile in nature, our vision is to reach out to communities who are less likely to have the time, resources or political leverage to engage in community design.

Overclocked22059 FTC Team

Hello, we're Overclocked, a FIRST Tech Challenge (or FTC) team! FIRST Tech Challenge is a program for students aged 12 - 18. The FIRST robotics organization holds many robotics events and promotes not only STEM but also core values such as cooperation and outreach to the local community. At the Maker Faire, last year's robot will be on display and attendees can stop by and try it! We can also tell you about FIRST and what it is. We would like to give everyone a chance to drive it, but unlike our robot, we're human, so everyone may not get a chance to drive.

Sopris Pottery

I am an independent potter based in Northampton at the Smith College Ceramics studio. My pottery style reflects my experience growing up and learning wheel-throwing in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. I will be exhibiting and selling decorative and functional vessels at the Maker Faire such as teapots, bowls, and vases.
