Yolo Maker Guys with robotics, 3d printing, clocks, kinetic art, lights, pachinko and more

Maker Faire Bay Area 2024

October 18th-20th

Coal Shed 2 Exhibit Robotics

We are some creators from Yolo County and bring a wide variety of projects and interests to share. Dave's Copperbot is a robotics project that evolved into kinetic art with large vacuum tubes, hundreds of LEDs, cameras, sensors, stereo sound, a cup holder and flapping wings. The Explorer is a life size humanoid found art sculpture. Doug's original clock creations bring together 3D printing and cool neon lighting to mark time with beauty and whimsy. We have a 70s era Japanese pachinko machine, enhanced with an Arduino and new colored LED lighting. We enjoy working with many materials - wood, metal, plastics, wire, and learning how to step up our crafts.

Yolo Maker Guys

Doug and Dave met when their kids were in the early Young Makers program. The children are now adults and have moved on, but we're still building and creating and experimenting with new materials and methods. Doug brings lots of experience with 3D modeling and fabrication using 3D printers and machine shops. Dave is a computer programmer
