The Electric Giraffe Project

Maker Faire Bay Area 2023

October 13th-22nd

Maker Robotics

Just a big fun loving robot giraffe that loves to have his nose petted, his chin scritched, and is happy to say hello to you in return! Russell is now well into his "teens" and still going strong and very much misses his bay area friends! He is still a big huge robot, who can carry 6 adults or 9 kids quite easily, (where insurance companies allow!) and just loves to play music and walk about county fairs and music fesitvals, etc. He remains a star attraction wherever he appears! Though ihe is huge by many standards, he is very slow and gentle, his motions are strictly controlled and methodical, and for the entire run of the Bay Area Maker Faire, Russell was allowed to roam the fairgrounds without issues. We all hope he could be allowed to do this for the crowds once again!

Frank Lawlor

My name is Lindsay Lawlor, owner and creator of the Electric Giraffe Project, known affectionately as "Russell" the robot giraffe. Dale D. recently contacted me and let me know Maker Faire might be coming back, so please tell him I said hello! MAKE and Maker Faire in the past should be well aware of my credentials. It is an honor to hear from you, and I would love to have the opportunity to bring Russell back to the Bay Area once again!
