In this workshop participants will dissect a wind up toy, observe the parts and how they work together and use craft materials like cardboard, googly eyes, weights and hot glue guns to create unique scrappy critters.

Ryan Jenkins

Ryan Jenkins is the co-founder and lead educator of Wonderful Idea Company, a creative design studio in the San Francisco Bay Area that develops resources to support explorations of art, science and technology through making and tinkering. Ryan trains educators, develops playful environments, and creates unique exhibits and art pieces for museums and science centers. Wonderful Idea Co. programs that he has designed include “computational creatures” and “crafting with code” themed camps and classes for youth and creative coding professional development workshops for educators. Before starting Wonderful Idea Co. Ryan worked for ten years as a content developer at the Tinkering Studio at the Exploratorium. In this role he developed workshops and activities that have been used, adapted and remixed in innovative education settings around the world.
