Lisa Winter: Decades of Bot Battle Experience Lead to Saving the World
Join Lisa in Conversation with Make: Executive Editor Mike Senese as they talk about her years of BattleBot competition and how that lead to her current career with the hardware team at Huawei.
A roboticist since childhood, Lisa has over 20 years experience designing and building robots. She has competed in Robot Wars and BattleBots competitions since 1996. Lisa was recently named one of the top 25 women in robotics you need to know about by Robohub. She has been inventing and rapid prototyping connected devices since the beginning of the IoT movement, and in 2017 helped launch Fisher Price's first and only wearable baby monitor. Lisa currently leads a hardware team at Huawei. In her free time she mentors high school students in robotics, and is working with a team to make and deploy an orangutan tracking device aimed at saving the species.
