Made with KiCad: Introduction to Designing Your Own PCBs

Creating your own printed circuit board (PCB) can be a daunting task, but it can be a fun, rewarding experience. We’ll talk about how a PCB is made and what steps you’ll need to take to design one using the free and open source software suite, KiCad.

What inspired you to begin investigating your topic or inspired you to make your project?:
I have been laying out PCBs using a variety of software tools for over 10 years. KiCad is a wonderfully powerful tool that enables makers and professionals alike to design PCBs, and services like OSH Park make it easy to manufacture prototypes. Building custom PCBs using free tools is now more accessible than before. I want to share with my fellow makers how easy it is to get started creating PCBs for their projects and prototypes.
