Lopez Island, a rural island community, is working toward solutions for localizing recycling & manufacturing. The first step has been turning plastic water bottles into 3D printer filament, then using 3D printers & scanners to print needed items.

Nikyta Palmisani is an Expressive Arts Therapist, educator, artist, and maker. She is focused on finding creative solutions for environmental and social justice challenges. She teaches locally, nationally and internationally. Nikyta currently lives and works on Lopez Island in Washington state, where she is part of a vibrant community working towards zero waste and environmental sustainability.
