Kuntal has a degree in electrical engineering and has been in the semiconductor industry for several years. Outside work, he is a DIY hobbyist and his current interests are in the areas of low-cost home automation and IoT.
A low cost Raspberry Pi based internet controllable smart power outlet system is demonstrated that allows far greater control of the outlets than functions available today in similar units. Pulsed, timed outputs, and metrology are a few examples.
What inspired you to make this project?:
Etherlux was initiated in 2016 by Rounok as a college senior. Over his four years through the many classes he attended, the many tests he took, and the numerous projects he completed he felt like he learned a lot but was constantly bugged by whether or not he could apply all that stuff to actually make something works and serves a purpose. Etherlux came out of that. He needed a way to control my lights and fans in his apartment. Together we got it done... and then some.
