DIY Robocars

We make and race autonomous small scale cars on a budget! Our cars are controlled by Raspberry Pis, Arduinos and other common hardware. They use open source software like TensorFlow and ROS to learn about and navigate the track.

What inspired you to make this project?:
The source of inspiration varies widely amongst our group of car makers -- some were inspired by the range of commercial and academic work being done on autonomous transportation. Some wanted to learn more about how to make these self-driving systems themselves with open source tools. Some were inspired to demonstrate a scaled version of a modern transit network. All of us learn more and gain inspiration through sharing, especially via meetups, and Maker Faire is an amazing opportunity for that!
