DIY Microwave Pressure Cookers & Hacking Kit to make them

DIY Microwave Pressure Cookers that can:
1. keep food good longer
2. cook/reheat food in a microwave oven & 2 psi steam pressure - great for leftover, vegetables or ramen noodles
3. serve as nice eating containers
4. save time, money & clean up

What inspired you to make this project?:
As human being, we rely on containers to preserve our food, water and all things valuable for our existence. The containers being bottles, bags, jars, tubs, barrels... do very well to contain solid and liquid. However, the head space (the air space above the content inside a container) is more challenging to control because the oxygen in the air and problematic pressure that may develop caused by potential physical, chemical or biological activities. Examples of these situations are cooking with a tightly closed container or fermentation of beer or wine... And of course, the destructive oxidation of organic or non-organic contents by the air.
We have learned how to deal with these issues very well at the industrial and commercial level. However, the same can not be said for home or personal situations. I have been interested in this problem for sometimes and have developed simple and affordable techniques/tools to effectively deal with this situation. The solution is a simple bi-directional valve that can be easily applied to most containers to control their pressure and mixture of gases. The benefits of this solution are very broad and immense. A few examples are:
1. More effective uses of microwave cooking
2. Better lacto-fermentation of foods
3. Preserve valuable food products longer while maintain their quality and nutritional values
4. Preserve the potency our meds and cosmetics
I have applied a number of patents for this process. And now I like to share what I have invented with the Maker Faire crowd. Undoubtedly, this community will develop many other useful applications using my invention.
