I am a computer business owner with an avocation for communicating my stories through 3D art. I combine laser cutting, wire work, needlework, textiles, mosaic, and sculpture to make mixed media, kinetic and automata “Invented Art”.
The California Poppy provides the color pallet. A Sudoku puzzle ensures each square is unique to its neighbor in color and stitch pattern. Wirework leaves and poppy photos complete the InventedArt sculpture.
What inspired you to make this project?:
As president of the San Francisco Chapter of the Embroiderers Guild of America, I challenge members to make a new piece of needlework each year. The inspiration last year was the California Poppy. My piece is a contemporary modern art interpretation of the Poppy and Sudoku.
