All maker projects involve some form of failure. An idea doesn't quite work, or a 3D print fails, or a component breaks. For young Makers, these moments of failure provide an invaluble lesson: Failure happens.

Jane Yarnell

Jane Yarnell is currently a 10th grade student at El Cerrito High School. She went to Black Pine Circle Middle School, in Berkeley, CA, where she was active in the school Maker club, mostly in 3D printing and design. She was invited to and attended President Obama's White House Maker Faire in 2014, and is now working on integrating making and design into her high school classes.
