Why do people spend so much time, money, and energy making? This presentation will examine the role of motivation in the maker movement. This will include designing maker experiences to promote positive motivation, avoiding diminished creativity and enjoyment, and the role of incentives.

As a professor, Dr. Alishia Huntoon teaches university courses, including social, educational, and developmental psychology. She has worked professionally, as well as tinkered, with students ranging from preschool to college. She is inspired by the primary makers in her life, her husband and sons.
