Most rocket scientists aren't rocket scientists. We're just people who started building rockets at some point in our lives. If you want to explore space, jump on in, the vacuum's fine.
Helen Lurie
Helen Lurie has designed communications systems in the traditional aerospace industry, as well as in the growing world of Newspace startups. She has built rocket ships at SpaceX and Virgin Galactic and satellites at Planet Labs. Helen once spent an afternoon balanced on a barge in the Pacific Ocean, with an antenna in her hands, trying to catch bits from a falling rocket.
