This presentation will tell the story of she++ from the perspective of its current co-directors. The presentation will begin with the story of two college sophomores who wanted to start a conversation about why the gender gap in tech exists and end with a multi-national movement run by students.

Reynis Vazquez-Guzman Maker Picture

Reynis Vazquez-Guzman

Reynis is a junior at Stanford University with a Computer Science major and Modern Languages minor. She is originally from Mexico but now resides in the mountains of Colorado. She is interested in computer systems, every type of dancing from salsa to hip-hop, and continually pushing to increase access to STEM education and making teaching the most valued profession.

Helen Hastings

Helen Hastings is currently a senior at Stanford University majoring in computer science with a concentration in systems. She grew up in Northern Virginia, enjoyed her high school's unique programming classes, and loves bringing the joy of creating to other young students who weren't given the same opportunities. She is serving her second year as Co-Director of she++.
