Learn how a Dobsonian Telescope works and how you can make your own! Demonstrations will be held on grinding glass to make a mirror for a Newtonian telescope. Home-made telescopes will be on exhibit to show how the optics and mechanics work.

Among other things, Douglas Smith is an Amateur Telescope Maker. He is past President of the San Francisco Amateur Astronomers. He teaches the Dobsonian Telescope Making class at the Randall Museum in San Francisco.
