What inspired you to make this project?:
Since I found out what an Arduino is, I have exploded into the Maker scene because I’m obsessed with teaching kids about electricity. I am especially passionate about teaching wearable technology because I get to teach kids how to sew. I believe this is the oldest maker skill from our relatives, thousands of years ago. What’s so cool to me is combining the oldest maker skill with a brand new technology of sewing with conductive thread. Wearable Tech is great to teach kids because it feeds into their ego of learning science but for the purpose of wearing what they’ve made - which also gives them something to be proud of. I love teaching and seeing that moment in a kid’s eye when they light the LED for the first time using my components and that success and happiness is all theirs, but I helped facilitate to make it happen.
